From Concept to Completion: Commemorative Wall
NMSU School of Nursing
This project focused on the design and production of a permanent commemorative wall celebrating the history, achievements, and impact of the School of Nursing at New Mexico State University.
Working closely with the nursing department, graduate school, and research teams, I helped translate complex historical material into a clear, engaging visual narrative. Accuracy was essential—every detail was reviewed and refined to ensure the content faithfully represented the department’s legacy and evolving role in healthcare education.
Along the Way
My role spanned the full lifecycle of the project, from early concept sketches and visual direction to graphic design, vendor coordination, and on-site installation. The final wall serves both as a historical record and a public-facing educational piece, reinforcing the contributions of nurses while strengthening the department’s presence within the university.
The result is a lasting, thoughtfully designed installation that balances research, storytelling, and production—created to inform, honor, and endure.

Smith Family Nursing Legacy Wall
The commemorative wall later expanded in to additional Smith Family Legacy Wall that includes additional honorees. The new plaque was carefully designed to honor individual achievements while maintaining visual cohesion with the existing wall. Family connections were highlighted where relevant with combining plaques together, creating a sense of continuity and storytelling across the installation.
