Domenici Hall Donor Wall
NMSU
Las Cruces, NM
Inspired by the Organ Mountains,
Las Cruces, NM
This donor wall concept was inspired by the sharp geometry and organic rhythm of the Organ Mountains surrounding Las Cruces. The design proposes an arrangement of 500 clean geometric forms that can grow and evolve organically over time, reflecting both the natural landscape and the collective contribution of the donors.
Natural, locally sourced materials—wood, copper, and metal—were central to the concept, reinforcing a strong sense of place and sustainability. Production was envisioned to remain local whenever possible, involving the NMSU Department of Art and regional businesses. The modular grid system allows flexibility in plaque placement while maintaining visual cohesion within the atrium’s modern, earth-toned interior.
The result is a donor recognition wall that balances structure and growth, honoring individual contributions while forming a unified, evolving whole rooted in Southern New Mexico’s landscape.
